17 days in - Hair Offf

Ok so today was the day that I come to the conclusion that my hair needed to come off.  Over the last few days my hair has been failing out, not bad but bad enough to notice, a little pinch of the hair would see strands coming out easily, and when I woke up this morning, my whole pillow was full of strands of hair.

I used a Philips one blade all over, which actually worked a treat. There are a few bald patches but the majority of hair is still visible, so I don’t look like a total slap head.  I feel ok about it, the main thing to remember is at least you know the chemo is working, so even thou you hair no hair, that cancer in your body is being attacked and is getting eradicated from you!

A small price to pay!

Side effects have been minimal, ringing of the ears have settled down slightly, skin is back to normal (no longer greasy) energy levels are good, in general feeling good.


Weekend is approaching then it’s the 3day hospital visit for the three day shot of chemo.

9 Weeks - The end of treatment....i hope!

It's been 9 weeks and my final chemo treatment was nearly a week ago.  Its nice to feel a bit of normality again, in terms of how you feel in yourself.  I'm up and about and taking every day as it comes, i feel i am able to do more and get about to do things like going out to eat or just taking a walk somewhere (which i highly recommend). I no longer need to take any drugs of any sort, and my body will start to fix itself slowly and be how i was before i started the chemo without the enlarged lymph node.  I had a CT scan a week ago so i'm now waiting for an appointment for the results...fingers crossed the treatment has worked.  Side effect at the moment are ringing in the ears, general lethargicness at times and sores on my hands which are like blisters. I will give an update once i have my results back.

One year on

Been just over a year now since my treatment finished and I have to say I don’t miss it at all! But, life gets back to normal, everything is as it was before the chemo and I’ve had my first cat scan since before the chemo started, and I’m happy to say that the lymph nodes that was enlarged is smaller then it was so chemo did work. I hope anyone going through this is staying strong, and anyone who wants any help or advice please do not hesitate to contact me. Stay safe

Back at home after the 2nd hospital treatments

NEARLY 2/3rds of the way through!!! Now back at home after three days in hospital. I left the hospital around 12pm, straight to Mac Donald’s, then home for a bath and straight into bed. It’s such a moral booster to be home! I will need to start a course of steroids in three days which will boost my white blood cells as there very low, it’s a needle into the belly flab area, five days worth. In general I’m feeling again lazy, and just generally groggy but the sickness is slowly going away but! The ringing of the ears is back and the greasy skin. The weekend is here so I will rest this whole weekend and most probably eat like a pig (appetite from the steroids).
